Mission Statement
The mission of the Military Science Department is to develop future leaders for
the United State Army, as well as graduates who are prepared to contribute positively
to government and business organizations and to continue life-long learning in
a changing and diverse world. The Military Science Department places highest
priority on leadership training. Our skills provide real world applications that
the business market seeks from our future leaders.
The Department of Military Science offers the Military Science Minor.
Application Criteria for Illinois State Tuition Assistance
To apply for Illinois State Tuition Assistance in the Department of Military
Science, a student must:
- Meet all academic requirements of EIU, and be eligible to meet all commissioning
requirements upon graduation and completion of Army Reserve Officers Training
Corps (ROTC)
- Maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Be an Illinois resident
