HIS 1527G - World History: Gaming the Past.

(3-0-3) On Demand. Student in this course examine themes in world history by participating in role-playing games. Students will engage diverse cultures, experiences, and ideas as they respond to historical events through the perspective of the historical actors who lived through them. Student might find themselves in a national fight against European imperialism, bogged down in a power struggle amidst a revolution, or cautiously negotiating a postwar treaty. The games will vary from semester to semester, but the aim will always be the same: experiential learning about the past through collaborative problem-solving, historical thinking, and critical reading of primary sources. Equivalent course: HIS 1599G.
