ANT 3614 - Ethnographic Practice in Anthropology.


(3-0-3) On Demand. This course will introduce students to ethnography, anthropology’s signature method for encountering and understanding living cultures. Students will read selected writings on ethnography, learn and practice the central techniques employed in ethnographic research, and complete an original ethnographic project based on local field research. Additionally, students will situate their own research and writing within the critical literature on ethnographic representations, with regard to gender, race, indigeneity, and postcolonial perspectives. WI 

Prerequisites & Notes:
ANT 2200G or its equivalent.
