MAT 3812 - Concepts of Algebra for Middle Level Teachers.

(3-0-3) S. The investigation of the conceptual foundation of algebra relevant to middle level teaching. Algebraic reasoning, generalization of mathematical patterns, models for real world phenomena, representations of algebraic ideas, and algebraic tools for mathematical problem solving. 

Prerequisites & Notes:
A grade of C or better in MAT 1271, MAT 1420, and MAT 2420G. This course is restricted to early childhood education, elementary education, middle level education and special education majors. Note: This course will replace MAT 4920, effective Spring 2019.
