NUR 4506 - Nursing and the Community.


(3-6-6) F, S.  An overview of public and community health nursing practice within a context of systems theory is provided. Community assessment and principles of epidemiology are explored. Primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention interventions to individuals, families, groups, aggregates, and communities, are emphasized. Each student is responsible for obtaining and maintaining the appropriate CPR certification, documentation of health requirements, and appropriate certified background checks as required by the specific clinical agency.

Prerequisites & Notes:
Prior or concurrent enrollment in NUR 3103. Restriction: Students must be accepted into the RN to BS in Nursing Program. Course may not be repeated. Note: This course will be replaced with NUR 4508, effective Spring 2019.
