SOS 3400 - Methods and Materials in the Social Studies in the Secondary School.

(3-1-3) F, S. Aims and goals of social studies teaching; nature and scope of social studies materials; methods used in teaching the social studies, including those employing instructional technology. Fifteen hours in clinical experiences are required. This course is designed to meet the needs of students who will receive Social Science Teaching Licensure.

Prerequisites & Notes:
SED 3330 and EDP 3331; for ISEP students, SED 3000 and SED 3100; for Middle Level Education majors, MLE 3110.  For students under catalogs prior to fall 2008, a major grade point average of 2.75 and a cumulative grade point average of 2.75; for students under catalogs from fall 2008 and later, a 3.00 major grade point average and a 2.75 cumulative grade point average.
