FCS 4845 - Family Stress and Resilience.


(3-0-3) On Demand. This course will define what is meant by family crisis, identify some of the major theoretical frameworks for studying families in crisis, consider major life-style transitions, and explore the major catastrophic crises families face. It will also examine resources and strengths that enable families to deal with crises more adequately. 

Prerequisites & Notes:
A grade of “C” or better in FCS 1800 or FCS 2800 or permission of the instructor. This course is restricted to students majoring in the B.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences, GST: Childcare Education, B.S. in Career and Technical Education-Family and Consumer Sciences, M.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences, M.A. in Gerontology, M.A. in Aging Studies, and M.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics; minoring in Family and Consumer Sciences; and to students in the Lumpkin College of Business & Applied Sciences (or, student from another College who is pursuing a Minor in Family and Consumer Sciences).
